Good news for Borderlands fans is knocking at the door as the developer of the game, Gearbox, has announced Borderlands 3. The announcement was made by the developer during its PAX East panel last week, as per reports. Besides announcing the game, Gearbox also announced the remastered version of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition.
A report says that the owners of the current version of the game on steam are eligible to receive free updates of the remastered version and they might have received the update in their Steam library until now. Though physical copies of the game are available in the market for gaming consoles, they are limited to specific countries including the US and Canada.
On the other hand, Gearbox has also announced some important and new information regarding Borderlands 3. The company announced the release date as September 13 and also talked about the first details of its playable characters.
“Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition drops TOMORROW with new weapons, visual upgrades, character heads, gold chests and keys, all four add-on packs, and more”!( ➜ https://t.co/ud6BPxbt1u pic.twitter.com/QnuNPlb2Zq), the company wrote over Twitter.
Borderlands: GotY was launched in October 2010, and at the time of its launch it received original Borderlands with all four of its DLC packs as an update to the version. The four DLCs included “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned,” “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,” “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx,” and “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution”–into one package. Similarly, the remastered version will also act the same way with some new additions for sure. These additions will be some of the gameplay tweaks, options to customize new characters, a series of new guns, etc.
There have been reports that Gearbox will also change the final boss of the campaign in order to make the ending more challenging and engaging.
